VALE Technology

 

This new technology called Vaso-Active-Lipid-Encapsulated or VALE is BioChemics patented transdermal drug delivery system marks a revolutionary advance in drug delivery technology. Topically applied, VALE products currently under development, are intended to offer an effective method to quickly and safely deliver a wide variety of active drug molecules deep into the skin tissue or the blood stream.

 

For decades the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries have made significant investments for the research and development of methods to deliver active drug molecules in a more rapid, effective, and safe manner. Traditional methods such as pills or needles are limited in some instances due to the frequent occurrence of undesirable side effects and patient compliance issues. Transdermal drug delivery has always held great promise for researchers and clinicians. However, the previously developed technologies using patches and liposome systems were limited in their efficiency and in the numbers and types of drugs that could be delivered. With the launch of VALE, BioChemics hopes to provide a significant technological advance in the field of transdermal drug delivery. VALE topically applied is attended to allow a much broader spectrum of drugs to be delivered as efficiently as the traditional routes of administration. The VALE system is designed to achieve comparable absorption rates to other methods of drug delivery, with potential for an improved safety profile over orally administered drugs by avoiding passage of an active ingredient through the gastrointestinal tract.

 

BioChemics is currently using its VALE technology platform in the development of products for Prescription Pharmaceuticals.
